Research

Research conducted by the Griffith Institute for Educational Research study found children with greater access to tablets at home had better letter sound and name writing skills which ideally led to future writing ability in the primary grades. (Hosking, 2014).

Further research has shown new generation of students entering schools have already been exposed to ‘media-rich digital environments and therefore have a greater interest in and aptitude for using ICT’ (Sweeney & Geer, 2010, p.18). You child needs the necessary continuance and relevancy of learning so meaningful connections can be made between existing or prior knowledge and subsequent learning (Thelning & Lawes, 2000).

"ICT can offer a range of individualised, yet interactive opportunities not previously available in early childhood classrooms’ (Elliott, 2002). "
